End of the Year

Hey everyone! As the end of the year approaches we find ourselves with the daunting task of either releasing rushed content, or actually sitting and pounding out what we can... as best as we can. With a lot going on currently, including a move to a new location, we have found it difficult to record and edit.

That being said, we are ramping up everything we can! After the move is completed we'll be doing as many videos as we can. We'll be starting with, what we're calling, #EverySonicEver. This series of videos will have the Space Zambonie crew going through every sonic game ever made.

We are excited as the new year comes, and we can provide more funny content to you guys. Thank you all for supporting us as we enter the next chapter of content on our channel

YouBrawl Announcement

YouBrawl
You Choose. You Fight. You Brawl.

Not everyone loves crossovers, but I do. Since the old days, back when I still had my SEGA hooked up to my CRTV, I would daydream of characters meeting up with one another. My mind would race across scenarios of characters, like Sonic meeting up with multiple other SEGA and Nintendo characters. I would keep my eyes peeled for any kind of cameo or crossover. The little things, such as seeing Sonic’s shoes in Donkey Kong Country, fighting with Earth Worm Jim in Clay Fighters, playing as Sonic in NiGHTS, would get me amped and excited.

That yearning to see characters bump into one another carried throughout my childhood. Interestingly enough, I found myself feeling the same excitement when I started watching YouTube. When I found videos with one of my favorite YouTube personalities crossing over, I realized I was beaming with the same excitement I had as a child. Remember playing Smash Brothers for the first time, seeing all of these famous Nintendo characters  duking it out? I felt like that, but it was different... with YouTube there is no limit. Possibilities are literally endless. There are no huge studio discussions, no issues with rights, no crazy contracts.

JonTron could easily make videos with Egoraptor, H3H3 could make however many parodies with iDubbbz as he wanted, NinjaSexParty could have Jacksepticeye in any of their videos, NostalgiaCritic could face off against the AngryVideoGameNerd, it was all possible. It’s with that childlike excitement that I decided to create something that could mimic the feeling I have, and share it with the world.

So I am beyond proud to officially announce a project by a YouTuber, as a fan of YouTubers.

A fan made fighting game featuring some of your favorite (hopefully) YouTubers.

Although I’m not ready to announce too much, I did want to officially announce that this is being made. It will, without a doubt, be a lot of work. I’m going into this knowing that it will take a lot of effort and time to create.  I don’t expect it to be released soon, at all, but I’ll give it my “when it’s done” seal of approval.

Part of the reason it may take a while is that I’m doing my best to ensure everyone featured in the game either allows it, or at least doesn’t have an issue with their character appearing in the game. In the end, it won’t be an easy task reaching out to different YouTubers. I’m keeping the roster flexible for that reason. In some cases I may do a “better to ask for forgiveness” approach, where I ask them in every way I possibly can... include them.. and if they say no at a later date, remove them.

YouTubers who do give me an actual approval will be the characters I work on first.

The other reason it’ll take a long time? There is a lot going into each character. There is concept, research, game play style, sprites, animation, implementation, sounds, backgrounds, dialogue, and all of that other fun stuff. As of now, I’m a one man team. Meaning I’m doing all of that myself, except music.. I can’t make music if my life depended on it.

As time moves forward you can come to this site for updates on the project. I’ll make sure to post character announcements, game play, character stories, demos, and much more. As for the engine, I’ll be using the FM2nd engine unless something better comes along. I know a few people will think this is another fan project that’ll never get completed, or that it’s going to be bad, or any other reason to be negative about it. Here is what my response to that is, yes I’m one person, yes I’m taking on a huge project, yes it will take a lot time, but I’m going to do everything I can to make it the best that I feel it can be, regardless of what it takes.

So for now I’ll leave you with the first few character announcements. As stated prior, there are plenty of other characters I’ve designed and done stuff for, but the roster is still malleable. These characters are the first two I will be announcing...

Representing the growing part of YouTube is an amazing content producer. LesbianCuisine is a growing channel that makes his own style of let’s plays called “RayPlays” where he takes the best parts of the playthrough and focuses on that. He also makes video game montages, and more. He’s a close friend of mine, and if you haven’t seen his channel or videos, check it out. Keep him on your radar, he’s going to blast off one day.

Taco-Man

Taco-man’s in a video game! It’s fun fun fun! If you don’t know Taco-man then here is a quick summary: He’s not a banana, he is one of the funniest gaming channels out there, and he’s got an awesome theme song! Being that he is technically the “game master”, I felt it appropriate to include him in this all out brawl of YouTubers. His creator is one of the nicest people I’ve met, and has been nothing but help along the way! I’ve been in contact with him regarding the use of the character, and the way the character appears in game. I plan to continue reaching out to him as progress moves forward, to ensure this game encapsulates the essence of the channel and the character. If you haven’t watched Taco-man before, I would recommend watching him tackling the infamous “Night Trap” or “Resident Evil” games. Both are guarantee laughs.

Well that's it for now! I'm going to make sure that every character brings something special and is super fun to play as. There are going to be plenty of announcements in the months to come though! Hopefully some huge surprises!

Other than these there are already several more characters that I got approval for, but why not keep some things a surprise. If you want to help me you can help by sharing this, or help me reach some of the YouTubers that are harder to reach.

Keep an eye peeled out. If there are any things you specifically want me to write about (in terms of gameplay, character references, movesets, gameplay, or UI) let me know. Feel free to contact me at. If you know anyone who could help with the music too (I'm literally trash at making music) let me know, and help me reach out to them! spacezambonie@gmail.com

Thanks everyone, and can't wait to keep you all updated!

Wonder Woman: The Biggest Mistake I've Ever Made

Sunday afternoon I managed to drag myself to the nearest AMC theater for a showing of DC’s Wonder Woman. The smell of stale over buttered popcorn, my squished sitting situation and the constant flash from my neighbor's phone were all reminders of why I should not have gone to see the movie that day. I was disappointed because I had fallen off the bandwagon of going to midnight premieres. If this Wonder Woman movie has taught me anything, it is that the next time I see a much-anticipated superhero film such as this one, I have to see it the day it comes out.
source: www.allocine.
It’s been a long time since I watched a movie and wiggled in my chair as I pretended to punch and kick the villains I saw on screen. But watching Wonder Woman reminded me that I can still be inspired by superheroes and by the actors who play them. I’m sure the man sitting next to me didn’t appreciate my nonstop movement, but to the girl who wouldn’t shut her flash off during the movie I hope you enjoyed it. And I’m sure somewhere out there Gal Gadot is saying “you go girl! Keep fighting for justice!” World War One, the war to end all wars, was fought with brave soldiers and daring leaders. It was during a time where women were not allowed on the front lines of battle, or in a conference room for that matter. But to Diana, Princess of the Amazons, it was a war that needed to end. Perhaps my favorite parts of the movies were those moments when Diana’s innocence would bring her in front of a group of man who didn’t know the kind of punch she packed. I’m not gonna lie I would get excited because Diana represented the kind of person I always wanted to be. She didn’t see that she was a girl who should be looked at but not spoken to. The little school girl in my who wanted to play football with the older boys, and become a black belt martial artist was screaming for Diana.
I also loved that Diana had such strong support groups throughout the movie. She had a whole island of Amazon women helping her train to be the strongest warrior, even though they couldn’t tell her the truth about how she came to be on Earth. Diana’s mother doesn’t want her to leave their hidden island of Themyscira, but when comes to understand that Diana has a duty that she has to fulfill and relents. And while at first, the team Steve Trevor puts together doubts her ability to fight, her battle in the trenches quickly changes their opinion. Each time Diana was met with oppression, she overcame it. And she didn’t overcome it by leaving quietly and then proving everyone wrong at the end of the movie, she battled it head on.

As for the directing and quality of the movie itself, I did not have a quiet chuckle to myself over the graphics whatsoever. I’ve watched movies where I can easily tell something was added in with CGI, but not this time. The fight scenes were incredible, the steady movement of the camera and angles did not make me dizzy and kept me interested. Gal Gadot is an Amazon I am sure. She pulled off the fights and transitions to peaceful moments without skipping a beat, I could watch her until the day I die.

Movie reviews, for the most part, reflect on the quality of the movie, but the one I am writing is more of an apology. I made a mistake seeing Wonder Woman on Sunday, and I am truly sorry Gal Gadot. I will be making up for it by seeing it many more times in theaters because waiting for it to come to DVD is torture and I won’t do it. But mark my words when the sequel’s tickets go sale I will be the first person in line to by them, and I will be amongst friends at that midnight showing. This movie scores 9/10 zambonies in my book!

Cell phones turned off, cozy recliners, and fresh popcorn included.
